Quick Erase
October 15, 2011 in Freeware
Recovery programs were invented exactly because some of the files you got rid off might contain valuable information. The only problem is that unwanted persons also know how to use that kind of tools and won’t hesitate to do so if they ever got a hold of your hard disk. A great way to prevent this from happening is to use Quick Erase.
Quick Erase is a versatile tool that helps insure that any information you choose to remove will permanently stay gone. It is an incredibly effective way to keep your sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands. The way Quick Erase works is pretty easy to get. When you delete a file, it still occupies a certain hard disk sector and, unless a miracle happens and that exact sector is overwritten, you will still be able to recover it for a long period of time. This ingenious application overwrites your deleted file making it unrecognizable and irrecoverable.
Quick Erase offers twelve different deletion methods that vary from fast 1 step approaches (Quick or British HMG IS5 (Baseline)), up to complex 23 passes mechanisms (Rizonesoft’s own PAYNE-3163H). Furthermore, to make the files completely untraceable, this reliable tool will also rename your overwritten data and reset its date. Using Quick Erase is as easy as pie. Simply run the application and drag the files or folders you want to get rid off over the eraser icon. After you click yes on the confirmation window, your data will “magically” vanish, never to be seen again.
The settings that Quick Erase provides will allow you to select the desired deletion method and to enable or disable the warning message, the “always on top”, the renaming or the date resetting options. This is also the window where you will receive complete information about each deletion method (how many steps it takes and what happens in each pass).
Summing up, Quick Erase is a powerful, reliable and versatile tool that helps you to safely and permanently destroy your sensitive information.
I would love to take credit for the brilliant peace of literature above, but unfortunately it was done by editors at Softoxi.com.
[stextbox id="info" caption="Softoxi.com Editor's Opinion"]Do you have some sensitive information that you want to permanently remove from your computer? Quick Erase is surely the way to go. This powerful and reliable tool will irreparably shred your files or folders and leave no traces that they were ever there.[/stextbox]

Hello, could you please inform if this software (Quick Erase) can work on free space and also complete drive(s) . Wipe free space as a precaution when file/folder was just deleted not shredded or wiped. Complete drive(s) wipe before reinstall of OS and format or selling/giving of computor. Thank you for the software and answers. G.
